Minerallac partners with PADS of Elgin (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) to fight homelessness

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HAMPSHIRE, IL—February 1, 2020 -- Minerallac is proud to announce that we have aligned with PADS of Elgin to aid community members who are experiencing poverty or homelessness. Over the next year Minerallac plans to support PADS of Elgin in several different ways including; funding a full day’s activities, supporting their Winter Harvest for the Homeless fundraising event, and organizing volunteer and other fundraising opportunities within our company during the year. Aligning with PADS of Elgin will allow Minerallac to make a more substantial difference in our local community which has served us well over the years.

PADS of Elgin is a 501(c)3, fully charitable and tax exempt organization which has been in existence since 1989. PADS of Elgin provides safe shelter, comprehensive case management and advocacy to homeless men, women and families in northern Kane County and Hanover and Dundee Townships. PADS provides a one-of-a-kind comprehensive action plan for each individual that is created by identifying the barriers which led to the person becoming homeless. This may include money management, life skills, assistance with securing a GED, housing searches or referrals to outside services such as substance abuse or mental health counseling.

“PADS of Elgin aligns well with the Core Values and culture of Minerallac Company and this will provide a relevant and meaningful way for our company to give back as a solid corporate citizen. We also trust that this will create a sense of philanthropy in our staff that will make Minerallac a more understanding culture regarding personal struggles both in and outside the workplace.” – Jim Hlavacek, President

Together Minerallac and PADS are making long-lasting positive changes in our community.
