How Minerallac Got Its Name!

FOUNDED IN 1894, Minerallac is known for inventions that electrified an industry. Born out of a need to solve an overheating problem associated with early 1900 electrical transformers, our founder, Mr. Louis Ferguson, invented a cooling agent made from mineral oil and lacquer -- thus the name "Minerallac" was born.

Led by Mr. Ferguson, Minerallac began inventing and patenting many of the electrical fasteners used to distribute electricity to our homes and businesses. Beginning in 1904 with the invention of the conduit hanger, followed in 1913 with the one-hole strap, Minerallac continues its innovations through today. With over 1500 different types and styles of supports, Minerallac offers to meet today's demanding requirements. "Quality that saves you time" is not just our slogan, but our commitment.
